A Tale of Two Gates

There are 2 gates through which you can enter our campus. The first one is near to where ITD's (ITC Tobacco Division's) marketing cell is housed. The other one is used mostly by ITC Infotech & CLI3L - the Call Center division's employees.

If I use gate no. 1 I always get saluted. If I use gate no. 2 I never get saluted. Rather sometimes my ID is checked and a few questions asked. Not that I care. I dont like people saluting me and spoiling me at this age.

But the 2 gates reflect the dichotomy of a tobacco major running an infotech business.

Pardon me! I have to end the post here. Thats the maximum I can say while still being in the politically correct domain.

yes, salutation pisses me too. because the guards always mistake me for others. it is as if mocking you...you don't deserve it.

Scout: To get the irony I have to be politically incorrect. Considering that I have 2 and half stomachs to feed I would not be able to do that on this blog as this is frequented by many politically correct people who are responsible for my daily bread(forgive my naivety on that).

So to get the irony we would have to meet. And considering the good time that we had with Ghetu & co it wouldnt be as bad an idea as I initially thought it would be.

Ghetu: I dont think the issue is about mocking. There is one guard who has a handsome moustache and the pride and affection with which it salute not only smells of respect but also of affection. Somehow I enjoy that and smile back or greet him.

The problem is most salutes are servile.

My first comment on the blog. What is a politically correct thing?Everything u do is correct.
These r sick facts of life,no one can do anything about it.It is like a food chain.Survival of the fittest. Here there is no question about survival, but the higher rank person always expects the respect and it is true in a liberal software workplace as well.might be the boss always does a toothpaste ad infront of u, but u never know when u will be screwed from the back.

Kaushik, shuv, other folks: i am ON for the last weekend of March!!

King: I smell of a dear friend of mine called Rip. But that just be a mere coincidence. But I cant agree more to what you say.

Scout: The ball is now firmly in Shuv's court.

Shuv said...

Scout & Shuv:

Did you finally see Eklavya and understand what I was trying to say??

Shuv said...

coke and me are going today to test drive the ford fiesta..coke is rocking!!

Scout said...

i hate you shuv.

kaushik: yes, i did see eklavya. loved it! even with the happy ending i think it's classic and classy.

kaushik said...

Scout: your "i hate you shuv" comment reminded me of my college days and its the last piece of evidence for me that you are after all a girl not more than 23-25 yrs old.

Vidhu Vinod Chopra should thanks me for my review. Or else you wouldnt have loved the movie so much. I wish someone did the same service for me..

Scout said...

i wish i was 23-35 :) would have lived differently. and the shuv comment was sheer frustration. humph.
anyway, who's coke?

kaushik said...

Scout: I never said 23-35 ;). Anyways no more of that...

By the Coke, is Shuv's bro and my bro-in-law. He is the non blog types but he was here in the bloggers' GTG..

One more thing.. I too found Eklavya classy but certainly not classic. To bestow a 'classic' tag a film has to do much more to you. Infact thats is it. I thought it would be a 'classic' but it didnt turn out to be one..

By the way I think "THIS" was a classic.
